MARCO PIERRE WHITE - CO-FOUNDER

Marco is the self-described composer behind this exciting and growing business. Marco’s DNA runs through the whole Black and White Hospitality operation. All menus, dishes and new and evolving brands run through Marco’s hands. He also travels a lot of the year so is always on the move internationally. The English House in Singapore is his latest project, a truly amazing restaurant with rooms for people to stay. Marco’s extensive travels allow him to guide us through different countries, cultures and international trends and bring ideas from different cultures and countries.

NICK TAPLIN - CO-FOUNDER

Resident in the UK but a seasoned traveller, Nick heads up this exciting venture. Nick has over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. He has worked closely with Marco in recent years to develop all the different franchise concepts available. Nick’s hospitality experience expands F&B. Prior to Black and White Hospitality, Nick was MD at Sanguine Hospitality where he was responsible for developing and managing branded hotels and luxury health clubs and spas. Today, his role is focused on driving the Black and White Hospitality expansion strategy and overseeing its operational activities. He is also an investor in both Cadbury House in North Somerset and The Cube in Birmingham (both UK).



CAROLINE WILCE - CFO

Caroline oversees the finance function for the whole of Black and White Hospitality including the franchising and management divisions. She is also an investor in Cadbury House and The Cube (both UK). Her background spans 35 years in the hospitality and finance sector. Her previous role was Finance Director at Sanguine Hospitality and before that she spent a number of years at Forte Hotels and Macdonald Hotels. Caroline sits on a number of external investment boards as a non-exec director and manages assets of more than £200m value.

SHEZAN ASLAM - MD, HOTELS & INVESTMENTS

Shezan is the Managing Director at Black and White Hospitality and sits on the main board of the parent company Black and White Hospitality Management Ltd. He is an active shareholder in The Cube and oversees the operation of the hotel management arm of the business. Shezan has more than 20 years’ experience within hospitality and has worked with major industry brands including Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Wyndham.

BRANDIE DEIGNAN - MD, MPW FRANCHISING

As MD, Brandie heads up the Black and White Franchising division. She oversees the growth of the franchising business and ensures all venues deliver a consistent and high-end service that guests expect from one of the world’s most famous and charismatic chefs and restaurateurs. Working for some of the country’s biggest corporate businesses, Brandie joined Black and White Hospitality from British Airways Plc. She has also worked for Tesco Plc where she headed up its restaurant’s division, Whitbread Plc, Travel Lodge Hotels Ltd and the Hilton Group.

ROB ATKINSON - LEGAL DIRECTOR

Rob acts as Legal Director for Black and White Hospitality and works closely with the brand team to ensure quality and consistency, as well as supporting the expansion strategy and all other legal matters across the group. Rob has over 15 years’ experience as an in-house lawyer with a particular specialism in the franchising sector having previously worked globally for businesses such as PepsiCo.

DAVE DANIELS-EKARTE - OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Dave has been involved in hospitality since the age of 16, working in all areas from kitchens, bars, restaurant and conferencing. The breadth of his experience spans independent restaurants and hotels, plus big brands such as Hilton and Wagamama. Dave’s focus is to support sites that have operational challenges and to lead new openings. Dave works closely with the marketing and food teams to ensure restaurants have all the support they require to be successful.



LEO DE BARTOLO - HEAD OF FRANCHISE DEVELOPMENT, NORTH

Leo heads up the North as Head of Franchise Development. He has a wealth of international franchise experience, holding senior operational roles for Chatime, Nando’s and Hog’s Australia’s Steakhouse. He is key to driving operational excellence, guest experience and brand engagement, whilst building strong relationships with all our business partners.

SAM HORSWILL - HEAD OF FRANCHISE DEVELOPMENT, SOUTH

Sam joined Black and White Hospitality from Turtle Bay Restaurants, where he was responsible for restaurants within the London region. Prior to this, Sam was an Area Manager with the Hand Made Burger Company and has accumulated a broad range of experience in similar roles working in new openings and learning and development. Sam brings great territory knowledge and experience to our London and South region.

JADE MALLIA - MARKETING DIRECTOR

As Marketing Director, Jade focuses on developing and implementing strategies to drive sales and revenue across all our franchised restaurants through brand-wide seasonal campaigns. She places a big emphasis on the full marketing mix utilising digital, PR and creative tactics to deliver results. She has a wealth of industry experience and has worked on the Marco Pierre White brand in the UK since the first restaurant opened, developing a great understanding of campaigns and tactics to drive customers into our businesses. Jade was the brains behind the group central marketing function.

KYLIE HART - MARKETING MANAGER

Kylie has a strong background in marketing with over eight years’ experience. Having worked with reputable agencies such as McCann Erickson and TRO, she has extensive knowledge of working with big brands such as Google, MINI, Jaguar, Pimms & Pret A Manger. As Marketing Manager, Kylie focuses on digital campaigns including website, SEO and social media development as well as creative collateral.

CARYS COBLEY - MARKETING MANAGER

Carys has more than four years marketing experience within the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Black and White Hospitality, she worked at SA Brain & Co where she was responsible for delivering multiple marketing campaigns across its pubs, bars and restaurants. At Black and White Hospitality Carys works closely with all new opening restaurants to ensure pre and post-marketing activity is delivered successfully.

REBECCA WAKEFORD - INTERIOR DESIGNER

Rebecca is an interior designer with over 15 years’ experience within the commercial sector. Working closely with the team at Black and White Hospitality she is constantly revisiting the Brand Interior Design Guides to ensure that the designs are always current and fresh and concur with the overall excellence that the Marco Pierre White brand is renowned for. In addition to this, Rebecca assists with individual franchises, whether it be the full design of a new restaurant, or simply overseeing the design process.

 

JENNIE MACKENZIE - HEAD OF TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

As Training Manager for Black and White Hospitality, Jennie plays a key part in developing the training strategy across our franchised restaurants and hotel management arm of the business. She has more than 15 years’ experience in learning and development and worked with major industry brands. Jennie also plays a major part in all new openings where the launch of a new restaurant is key.

CAROLINA HOWELLS - MARKETING & PR MANAGER

As Marketing & PR Manager working for The Cube and Black & White Hospitality - Carolina is a creative Marketing Manager with great experience gained from working at D&D London and Mango Tree Restaurants. She was responsible for delivering the PR strategies for these restaurants including Radici and Chai Wu.

SARAH WILLIAMS - REVENUE MANAGEMENT

Sarah has worked in hospitality for over 20 years, first in operations, then sales & marketing and finally moving into Revenue Management. Sarah offers support to hotels to drive direct traffic and therefore increase direct bookings as well as driving total revenue, with a key focus on hotel restaurants. Sarah is therefore renowned for driving total revenue and driving the optimal EBITDA.

LAURENCE PHILLIPS - PR DIRECTOR

Laurence manages all public relation and media related activity for Black and White Hospitality. He also handles the PR for Marco directly, including his Rudloe Arms in Wiltshire. With over 25 years’ experience of working in the media, he has extensive experience of the hospitality sector having represented some of the world’s best-known hotel groups as well as the UK’s biggest brewery and pub retailing groups. He has also been involved with the opening and on-going PR activity for many restaurants, including the first Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill, New York Italian and Bardolino.

KIRSTY HUNT - FRANCHISE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Kirsty has a varied wealth of experience spanning the past 20 years. Having worked across a range of areas including sales, new business development and finance, Kirsty’s role is to develop new relationships and identify new opportunities as we continue to expand the Marco Pierre White brands across the UK and abroad.

RICHARD WILCOX - PROCUREMENT DIRECTOR

Richard heads up Procurement for Black and White Hospitality. He has a varied role and is key to the F&B business to ensure food quality, standards and margins are met to drive the all-important profit conversion. Richard also works closely with the new opening teams to support the procurement of both light and heavy equipment where required. Richard also owns his own procurement business which gives us excellent access to very competitive pricing and group deals.

DARREN COSLETT-BLAIZE - HEAD OF FOOD

Darren has been a chef since 2001. He started his career at Claridge’s Hotel in London and from there went on to train with Michel Roux Jr at Le Gavroche, Jason Atherton at Pollen Street Social and with Simon Rogan at l’Enclume. He travelled the world as a personal chef to a billionaire and trained in his free time at three Michelin star kitchens in Italy, Monaco & on the Cote d’Azur. He now works with Marco to head up all food aspects of the business including chef training across the estate, as well as carrying out regular audits on food standards.

JASON EVERETT - EXECUTIVE HEAD CHEF

Jason is Marco Pierre White restaurant’s executive head chef at Black and White Hospitality. He works alongside Darren and Marco to develop all-new menu content and chef training. Jason has had a long-standing relationship with Marco having previously worked under him at his famed Harveys restaurant in London, where he spent two years helping Marco attain two of his three Michelin stars. Jason is infamous for his starring role in White Heat where he has a full page!  In recent years and prior to joining Black and White Hospitality, Jason was executive head chef at Marco’s Steakhouse Bar & Grill in Bristol.

CHRIS GREEN - EXECUTIVE CHEF SUPPORT

Chris started his career in 2004 at the Doubletree by Hilton Cadbury House Bristol. Chris went on to become Snr Sous Chef in Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse Bar & Grill Bristol, then later became Head Chef of some well-known restaurants in the South West. In 2019 Chris joined the procurement team and supports Darren and Jason with food development including cook-offs, recipe costings, food specifications, allergen matrices and site support. Chris has cooked with Marco on numerous occasions and has an in-depth knowledge of how both the kitchens and head office functions work.

ALEEM TUFAIL - FINANCE DIRECTOR, HOTELS & GROUP FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

As Group Financial Controller for both the franchising and hotel management parts of Black and White Hospitality, Aleem oversees and supports all aspects of group finance. He carries over 20 years’ experience in hospitality and finance. Previously Aleem has held many senior positions, including 11 years at Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, Hotel Collection, & Corus Hotels. At Black and White Hospitality Aleem works across all arms of the business, ensuring all sites are being fully supported throughout.

MIKE SLATER - REGIONAL FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Having worked in finance for over 30 years, Mike has a great wealth of hospitality experience. This key function as Regional Financial Controller, Mike’s focus is to analyse and report sales figures to drive revenue for restaurants. Mike is also a day to day finance support for all restaurants, providing each site finance guidance and training.

SOHAIB MENGAL - GROUP MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

Sohaib's role in group finance provides crucial support to all finance departments across the group, as well as project managing new developments. Having worked at prestigious large London hotels in the past, he carries a wealth of experience as well as having passion for the hospitality industry. Sohaib works closely with the franchise team in reporting vital sales trends across all brands and sites alongside analysing and interpreting key data.

SASHA OGBOURNE - GROUP SALES MANAGER
